Our Mission
NEGDA was founded by generator dealers, is governed by a board of generator dealers, and exists exclusively to serve the needs of generator dealers. There are no personal financial incentives or gains realized by our organization or Board of Directors. Our mission is simple: to support generator dealers through education, peer collaboration, and opportunities to strengthen their businesses.
Our Story & Growth
NEGDA began more than 13 years ago as an informal, regional group of generator dealers who came together to share knowledge and resources.
As the industry grew more complex, that collaboration evolved. In 2022, NEGDA formally became a trade association to provide generator dealers with a structured, dealer-led platform focused on education, networking, and industry engagement.
Today, NEGDA members collectively represent:
- Over $175 million in generator-related revenue
- More than 100,000 gensets under agreement for service, repair, and maintenance
- Employment for nearly 900 people

NEGDA seeks generator dealerships whose primary business includes generator sales, installation, and/or service, and who:

- Deliver high-quality work

Membership Process
- Submit an Application – Complete the membership application to begin the process.
- Membership Review – Applications are reviewed by the Membership Committee, typically within two weeks.
- Approval & Onboarding – Approved members gain access to NEGDA meetings, resources, and benefits.
